Sadar Thana Police has arrested a lecherous Jasim (30) for raping a mother and teenage daughter by making them drink intoxicants with sweets in Sukripara village of Nizampur Union of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police Mafroza Akhter Shimul, OC (Investigation) Badiuzzaman and SI Mominul Islam PPM, BPM went to see the raped girl. On the other hand, a group of police including SI Mominul Islam and Sanak Kanti Das were arrested while running away on the orders of the Additional Superintendent of Police at around 1 pm last Thursday. In this incident, the girl’s brother Ala Uddin filed a case against Jasim at the Sadar police station on Friday.

The girl and her father Ruhul Amin said that they are residents of Pasurhat in Noakhali. For a long time, they have been living in that village for two hundred years. Ruhul Amin and his wife Rahima Akhtar live by begging. Lumpy Jasim (30), son of Akbar Ali of the same village, has his eye on his teenage daughter. Jasim gave sweets to Ruhul Amin, his wife Rahima and their teenage daughter when they came to their house around 8 pm last Wednesday. After eating sweets they cannot say anything. The girl wakes up in the morning to find her clothes open and her mother naked. But Jassim is not. When the matter came to light, around noon, Jasim gave the girl 200 taka to keep it a secret and get treatment. If they open up about the matter, they are threatened with death. When her mother did not regain consciousness in the afternoon, when the matter was reported to the local people, they admitted the girl to Habiganj Sadar Hospital. At present, the girl is admitted in the gynecological ward of Sadar Hospital. But Jasim admitted to raping only the girl and not her mother. However, the girl said that her mother was also raped. Police are investigating this. The girl will give a statement in court after recovery.

Incidentally, when the girl was admitted to Sadar Hospital last Thursday evening, the representative informed the Additional Superintendent of Police and the OC of Sadar Police Station. Following this, the police immediately started an operation to arrest Jasim.

SI Mominul Islam said that after the medical examination of the victim, he will be sent to the court for a statement. Jasim was sent to jail by the court on Friday afternoon.
