Umpire when the opponent of Bangladesh!
sports desk/
Bangladesh suffered bad umpiring against India. Virat Kohli’s clear ‘fake throw’ escaped the eyes of the umpires. Bangladesh could have won against India if they got five runs from that fake throw.
Bangladesh has also suffered wrong umpiring in the semi-final after winning against Pakistan. The team’s top order and most experienced batsman and captain Shakib Al Hasan has been sent to the dressing room for ‘fake’ leg before.
Shakib’s controversial out-
In the eleventh over of the innings, Shadab Khan could not hit the ball properly while playing down the wicket. After the ball hits his pads, the Pakistani appeals strongly. Adrian Holdstock took a moment to point the finger. Immediately, Shakib took the review. The replay clearly caught UltraAge, the ball hit the pad after Shakib hit the bat. But to everyone’s surprise, TV umpire Langton Ruger of Zimbabwe declared Shakib out.
Fake Fielding-
A controversial incident took place in the seventh over of Bangladesh’s batting against India last Wednesday. Virat Kohli broke the rules and fake fielded to deceive the two openers Liton and Shanta. According to ICC rules, the ball should be dead and 5 runs should be added to Bangladesh’s score as a penalty. The two umpires on the field, Chris Boon and Marais Erasmus, were immediately informed by Shant. But the umpires took no notice.
No Ball Controversy-
Even while batting, Virat Kohli created pressure on the umpires. In the 16th over, Hasan Mahmood pulled a bouncer and signaled clearly to the leg umpire for a no ball. Shakib also protested to the umpire about the matter.
