The status of teachers in our country is deteriorating. The teacher-students and the existing system are responsible for that. Incidents of students assaulting teachers are often heard. Party members and less educated people are in the management committee. Highly educated teachers do not have jobs if they do not keep their word. The pay structure and perquisites of teachers are very less than any other cadre. Teachers are struggling to run their families. Students these days are turning to devices and technology rather than studying with notebooks and pens. Due to the free flow of information and the availability of digital devices, students are going astray into various misdeeds. Teachers have to play the main role to overcome this situation. At no time did the teachers have money. So an ideal teacher has never stopped imparting knowledge and will not stop in the future either. Let this be the teacher’s oath on Teacher’s Day.
