A poor family is in trouble after filing a case in Sylhet’s Jaintapur. Desperate and destitute, he goes from door to door hoping to get justice. It is known that Md. Abul Kashem Kazi, the son of deceased Odud Kazi, was living with his family in the rented house of Shabbir Mia of Gaurishankar village of Jaintapur Union No. 1 of the upazila. He earns his living by performing poetry. But in a cruel twist of fate, an influential black market tycoon there was pressuring the UP member to supply him with illegal Indian goods. As he did not agree to this, on the night of August 4 at around 9 o’clock, U/P member Mansoor Ali of the same village and his party attacked him. Abul Kashem was seriously injured. Later, with the help of locals, he went to Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Asha filed a written complaint at the Jaintapur police station after getting justice after receiving first aid. But when the Police Station expressed its inability to take the case at the instigation of the defendant, the learned Senior Judicial Magistrate, Amli Court No- (06) filed a case. The court took cognizance of the case and directed the Jaintapur Thana police to take legal action through investigation. of which Jaintapur CR Case No-161/2022. The police did not budge.
The complaint of the plaintiff is that the investigating officer of the case, SI Md. Mohibur Rahman, has taken a large sum of money from the defendants and instead of conducting a proper investigation, he is engaged in threatening and harassing him. Besides, he tried to send the final report to the court by accepting the testimony of the defendant’s relatives without taking direct witnesses at the scene.
Meanwhile, after reviewing the medical report, it can be seen that there are injury marks on his body. After all this, the investigating officer of the case hastily indulged in sending the final report. When I contacted the investigating officer of the case, SI Mohibur Rahman, he said, “I have given what I got in my investigation.” In response to another question, he said, the plaintiff has given the truth, but I did not think it necessary. When asked about the current status of the case, he said, you will know if you search the court.
On the other hand, it is known from the search that there are multiple cases against that U/P member Mansoor Ali. He has served many times in prison. The police also arrested him for land grabbing and murder in Jaintapur. Women and college students were not spared from his hands.
