Professor Abul Hasnat Md. Mofizul Haque, a distinguished educationist, has officially joined as the new Principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College, the premier educational institution of Cox’s Bazar district.
He formally assumed office on Tuesday, 30 December, at 12:30 PM through a ceremonious program held at the Teachers’ Council Auditorium of the college.
During the event, the outgoing Principal, Professor Mohang Amirul Anwar Chowdhury, formally handed over the charge to the newly appointed Principal. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice-Principal of the college, Professor Md. Ahidul Islam. On the occasion, the outgoing Principal was accorded a farewell reception, while the incoming Principal was warmly welcomed with floral greetings.
In his farewell speech, Professor Mohang Amirul Anwar Chowdhury reflected emotionally on his tenure and expressed sincere gratitude to the teachers and students for their wholehearted cooperation during his term in office.
In his address, the newly appointed Principal, Professor Abul Hasnat Md. Mofizul Haque, sought the cooperation of all concerned to enhance the quality of education and the overall academic environment of the college. He expressed his firm commitment to developing Cox’s Bazar Government College into an ideal and exemplary educational institution.
Among others, speeches were delivered by former Principal Professor Md. Gias Uddin, Professor Kamrul Ahsan, Professor Md. Solaiman, former Head of the Department of Islamic History and Culture Professor Md. Azizul Mustafa Bulu, and Secretary of the Teachers’ Council and Head of the History Department, Muhammad Ullah.
The program was conducted by Salah Uddin, Assistant Professor of the Management Department and Joint Secretary of the Teachers’ Council. Heads of various departments along with a large number of teachers and officials of the college were present at the event.
It is noteworthy that on 12 December, the Ministry of Education appointed Professor Abul Hasnat Md. Mofizul Haque as Principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College through an official order. He is an experienced officer of the 16th BCS (General Education) cadre.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has served as a faculty member in several government colleges in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Rangamati. Previously, he served with distinction as the Head of the Accounting Department and later as Vice-Principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College. Before assuming his current role, he was serving as the Principal of Maheshkhali Government Women’s College.
Professor Mofizul Haque is the third son of the late Md. Hashem, owner of Hashem Tower, located on Panbazar Road under Cox’s Bazar Municipality.
