Sylhet Cantonment Public School and College celebrated the 59th birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, the pioneer of Bengali greatness, the great architect of independence and the greatest Bengali father of the nation and Sheikh Russell Day-2022.
On Tuesday, the institution was beautified with appropriate posters, banners and festoons to celebrate the day with due dignity and various arrangements. Brigadier General Md., president of the board of directors of the institution, was present as the chief guest. Mizanur Rahman, NDC, PSC. In addition, the principal of the institution, Lt. Colonel Abu Haider. Asaduzzaman, PhD; Vice Principal, faculty, students and staff were present.
The program became more personal due to the generous spirit, sincerity and cooperation of the teachers of the institution and the spontaneous participation of the students.
The main program begins with recitation from the Holy Quran. Among the various programs organized to celebrate the day were discussion programs, painting and sports competitions, commemorative tree planting, interesting cultural programs and award distribution ceremonies. Science fairs and arts and crafts festivals are also organized.
The President of the institution visited Science Fair and Arts and Crafts Festival and enjoyed the cultural program and expressed his satisfaction with the talent and various creative craft skills of the students.
The chief guest, principal, selected teachers and students gave speeches highlighting the significance and context of Sheikh Russell Day. The Chief Guest said, Sheikh Russell Abhman is the smiling image of Bengal’s troubled childhood. The principal of the institution expressed the tumultuous childhood of Sheikh Russell, wishing for peace and respect for the soul of Sheikh Russell. He encouraged the students to develop their latent talents by participating in various fair competitions including science fairs, arts and crafts. He also called on the students to become good citizens by cherishing the spirit of the liberation war in their hearts and being inspired by patriotism, moral, creative with human qualities, self-confident and educated in good education.
