The triennial election of Kushtia Journalists Union (Reg: No. Khulna-2069) has been held. In the 2025 election, President Abdur Razzak Baschu and Shamimul Hasan Apu have been elected as the President and General Secretary, respectively.

According to the decision of the general meeting of the union on September 27, the polling date was fixed on November 1. In continuation of this, the election schedule was announced on September 30. The deadline for purchasing nomination papers was fixed from October 14 to 18 and the last day for withdrawal was October 23. The day of allotment of symbols was fixed on October 25.

A total of 12 nomination papers were sold against 9 posts. Out of these, 2 candidates did not submit their nomination papers and 2 candidates withdrew their nomination papers. As a result, since there were no more than one candidate for any position, Abdur Razzak Baschu was elected unopposed as president, Mojibul Sheikh as vice-president, Adv. Shamim ul Hasan Apu as general secretary, M. A. Jihad as joint general secretary, Enamul Haque as treasurer, S. M. Mahfuz Ur Rahman as office secretary, Shaharia Emon Rubel as publicity secretary and Tuhin Ahmed as executive member.

However, the position of organizing secretary remained vacant as no candidate submitted nomination papers.
