Cooperation with RAB stopped from 2018: US
Online Desk/
The US has stopped supporting RAB since 2018. US State Department spokesman Ned Price said this at a regular press conference on Wednesday (October 12) US time.
In response to a question from journalists, he said, the United States has taken this step after receiving credible information of serious human rights violations against RAB.
In December last year, the United States imposed sanctions against 7 senior officers of the RAB and law enforcement agencies for serious human rights violations.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who recently returned to the country from the United States, said that the RAB was formed on the advice of the United States and they provided the training. Asked to comment on the Prime Minister’s statement, Ned Price said, “Based on credible information and allegations of serious human rights violations, we have stopped supporting RAB since 2018.”
