Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka by three runs in Women’s Asia Cup. The length of the match was reduced to seven overs due to rain.

On Monday (October 10) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka girls lost five wickets in 18.1 overs to score 83 runs. Later, playing for the target of 41 runs in seven overs, Bangladesh could not score more than 37 runs after losing seven wickets.

This is Bangladesh’s third defeat in the fifth match of the current season. The reigning Asia Cup champions are fifth in the table with just four points from two wins. With the defeat of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been confirmed in the semi-finals.

In the last match, India will face Thailand, Bangladesh will play against the United Arab Emirates. If Thailand loses and Bangladesh wins, the host team will have the opportunity to play the semi-finals based on net run rate.
