Today is 12th Rabiul Awal, the holy day of birth and death of the last Prophet and Messenger, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He was born on this day in 570 AD. He left the world on the same date showing the path of salvation in this time and hereafter in his life of 63 years.

When Jazirat al-Arab was immersed in the darkness of Jahiliyyah or iniquity, the Messenger or Rasool (PBUH) of the Most Merciful Allah was born as a light. He was born in an ordinary family of the Quraish tribe of Makkah. He was a symbol of truthfulness and honesty. He was a pioneer of peace. He is the greatest human being ever in mercy, forgiveness, modesty, charity, tolerance.

Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) attained prophethood at the age of 40. He preached the message of peace and humanity of Islam for 23 years. Not only spiritual education, but also the pioneer of the establishment of the welfare state. The Islamic state he established in Medina was the first example of a welfare state.

Like the 150 million followers of Islam around the world, the devout Muslims of Bangladesh also celebrate the birth and death days of the Prophet (PBUH) and Miladunnabi (PBUH) with due dignity. Nafal prayers and fasting are many. Korankhani, Milad Mahfil are organized in honor of Rasool (PBUH).

President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have given separate messages on the occasion of Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH). Apart from this, opposition leader Roshan Ershad and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir gave a speech. The President and the Prime Minister urged everyone to follow the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to take a vow of fraternity and human welfare.

Today is a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH). Newspapers will also be closed. All public and private television and radio channels of the country will broadcast special programs highlighting the importance and significance of Miladunnabi (PBUH) on the holy Eid day. Newspapers also published special articles.

On the occasion of Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH), various political parties, social and religious organizations have taken detailed programs including discussion meetings, Milads, doa mahfils. The Islamic Foundation has organized a month-long Islamic book fair. Prayer and discussion meeting will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque today after Maghrib. Baad Asr Milad Mahfil will be held at the National Press Club.

Like every year, Ashekane Maizvhandari is organizing Julush. Various religious organizations including Rahmaniya Mainiya Maizbhandari organized the procession in Anjuman.
