The ruling party Bangladesh Awami League has finalized the chairman party candidate for the upcoming Gowainghat Upazila 4 Union Parishad elections in Sylhet.

Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina finalized her party’s candidates for these 4 unions at the Awami League’s Parliamentary and Local Government People’s Representative Nomination Board meeting at Ganobhaban on Tuesday (October 4).

The sailors of the final 4 unions are Nazrul Islam Naju, Rafiqul Islam, Farooq Ahmad and Subhash Chandra Pal.

Upazila Awami League member and Union Awami League general secretary Nazrul Islam Naju will participate in the election with a boat in No. 2 West Jaflong UP and Awami League leader Rafiqul Islam in No. 3 East Jaflong.

Gowainghat Upazila Jubo League convener Farooq Ahmed will fight the election with a boat in No. 11 Madhya Jaflong and Subhash Chandra Pal Chana, joint secretary of Upazila Awami League in No. 12 Goainghat Sadar Union.

As per the schedule tomorrow Thursday (October 6) is the last day for submission of nomination papers. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on October 10, withdrawal of candidature on October 17, symbol allotment on October 18 and polling on November 2.
