“This government will be ousted through agitation, Insha’Allah”
Sylhet Bureau/
Advisor to BNP Chairperson Tahsina Rushdir Luna said, “In 1971, former President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP in the context of when Awami League established Bakshal and strangled the dreams of freedom fighters by taking away the freedom of the country’s democracy and media. Awami League has seized power by stealing votes. Awami League has no relationship with the people, so they do not want to hold elections under a neutral government. Awami League cannot be given more time. BNP is, and will continue to be, on the streets for the rights of the common people of the country. BNP will not back down in the struggle for rights. This government will be ousted through a united movement with the people of the country, Inshallah.”
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the colorful rally organized by Sylhet District and Metropolitan BNP at the registry ground of the city on the occasion of BNP’s 45th founding anniversary on Saturday afternoon.
Under the chairmanship of Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury and Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury, the main speaker addressed the rally – Advisor to BNP Chairperson Khandkar Abdul Muktadir.
Special guest spoke – BNP Chairperson’s advisor Dr. Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury.
Advisor to BNP Chairperson Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said, “The name and history of BNP is linked with the existence of Bangladesh. After the great liberation war in 1971, the Awami League destroyed the hope of the country’s independence. They were making people miserable through misrule. They killed the country’s democracy and established a tyranny in the country. They put the country in crisis of existence. Former President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP in 1978 in a difficult situation to give direction to the disoriented nation. Zia led the country to perfection in a short period of time. Every time BNP takes the lead of the country, people’s hopes and aspirations have been reflected. The people of the country no longer believe anything of Awami League. They lie until they sleep. By ensuring the fall of this government along with the people of the country, the responsibility of running the country will be given to the government elected by the people.”
Sisik Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, ‘Former President Ziaur Rahman declared independence. And the country’s democracy will be restored under the leadership of his established party BNP, Insha’Allah.
Convener of Sylhet District Ulama Party, Mao Nurul Haque spoke at the meeting, which was initiated by recitation of the Koran – BNP’s central minor affairs assistant secretary, Abdur Razzak, member of the national executive committee. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury, Abul Kaher Chowdhury Shamim, Sylhet Metropolitan BNP President Nasim Hossain, Advocate Hadia Chowdhury Munni.
Sylhet district BNP president Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury said in the presidential speech, “Responding to the call of Shaheed Zia, the dream with which the best sons of the nation sacrificed themselves in the great liberation war, was destroyed by establishing Bakshal. Later, multi-party democracy was established in the country again under the leadership of former Zia. Parliamentary democracy was established under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia. But Awami League destroyed everything. People have woken up in the decision of Tariq Rahman’s Rajpath. This time too, under the leadership of BNP, the country’s democracy will be restored, inshallah.”
