BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the situation is getting more complicated every day, alleging that some policemen have continued to prosecute, arrest and harass BNP activists across the country. In any case, the government wants to remove the opposition from the field and stay in power again. That is the only goal.

He made these allegations in a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday afternoon.

Bringing up the issue of 6 leaders of Chhatra Dal who went missing on Saturday, Mirza Fakhrul said that 6 leaders of Chhatra Dal were arrested by the police. Today it was said about the recovery of weapons.

Showing the picture of the weapon, the BNP Secretary General said, “Weapons of prehistoric times.” Today the DB police briefing said that BNP is stockpiling weapons to thwart the elections. Police people are now talking political language.

He also said that when the activists took shelter in the house of GK Ghaus in Habiganj, the police fired there too. The injured were prevented from going to the hospital.

Mirza Fakhrul said about the arrest of 6 Chhatra Dal leaders, Awami League General Secretary said that the Home Minister spoke about terrorism. But where is the terror? Weapons are in your hands, laws are in your hands. These are state terrorism.

Fakhrul termed the statements of the police about Chhatra Dal leaders as completely fabricated and said that they are completely false. Politically motivated.

In response to a question, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Awami League is a terrorist party.” The police are doing this on the orders of the illegal government. We have repeatedly said that state terrorism is going on. Judiciary, law enforcement and other forces are working similarly. We have the information, we will show it if necessary. Judges are being asked to pass sentence quickly. They want to empty the whole field.

BNP is afraid of India’s message – Fakhrul said in response to such statements by the leaders of the government party, “We are in the movement.” I still don’t see anything authentic about this report.

Regarding the physical condition of the chairperson, he said, Khaleda Zia is in the hospital. He is undergoing treatment. You will be informed when the movement program is given.

In response to the question whether the political situation is going towards more violence, Fakhrul said, “It will depend on what the government wants.” The government has to implement the demand that we have made. The government itself is creating terror. We are peacefully agitating with the people in a systematic way.
