Since the beginning of this year, more than 2,400 people have lost their lives in the violence of various parties in Haiti, a country in the Caribbean region.

This information was given in a report of the news agency AFP on Saturday, citing information published by the United Nations.

It said that most of the people killed in the violence in Haiti were killed by various criminal gangs active in the country. Apart from this, hundreds of people involved in criminal gangs were killed in the lynching of ordinary people who took the law into their own hands.

Ravina Shyamdasani, spokeswoman for the United Nations Human Rights Office in Geneva, told reporters, “At least 2,439 people have been killed in Haiti from January 1 to August 15 of this year.” In addition, 902 people were injured.

He also mentioned that 951 people were abducted in the country during the said period.

Commenting that the tendency of people to take the law into their hands is increasing the alarm in this case, Raveena said that from last April 24 to mid-August, more than three hundred and fifty people lost their lives in mass beatings by local people.

He said that out of these 350 dead people, 310 people have been accused of involvement with various criminal gangs.
