13 women, men and children arrested from militant hideouts in Kulaura

The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the police arrested 4 men and 6 women from a militant hideout in a remote hill of Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar district for about 4 and a half hours. Three children were also with the arrested militants.

On Saturday (August 12), a team of CTI Division led by Additional Commissioner of Police, CTTC conducted a SWAT operation in a remote hillock of Tattiuli village in Karmadha Union of Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar District.
CTTC unit conducted Operation Hillside and arrested 10 militants including men, women and 3 children from the hideout of militants and recovered several important evidences from the hideout till 10 am. Police completed the operation without any casualty. Moulvibazar district police confirmed these information and told CNBangladesh that the three arrested children have been taken into custody.

Moulvibazar District Police recovered two and a half kg of explosives, 50 detonators, training manual, commando boots and other training equipments, knife-ramadas and other sharp weapons and cash worth Tk 3 lakh 61 thousand and gold ornaments recovery (CTTC) unit from the militant hideout with the full support of Moulvibazar District Police.

The 4 arrested men are Shariful Islam (40) of Satkhira district, Hafiz Ullah (25) of Kishoreganj, Khairul Islam (22) of Narayanganj, Rafiul Islam (22) of Sirajganj. The women are Maisha Islam (20), Sanjida Khatun (18), Amina. Begum (40), Habiba Binte Shafiqul (20), Meghna (17) and Shapla Begum (22). They have 3 children, Abida (12). Huzaifa (6) and 18-month-old Zubeida.
