Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers Forum Sylhet unit held a protest meeting against the verdict against Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman and Doctor Zobaida Rahman.

On Sunday (August 6) a protest was held at the Sylhet court premises.

Speakers in the meeting said, “The government has no respect for the rule of law. This formal ruling by the government is a thumbs up to the rule of law. The government that won the Patano elections in 2014 and the night polls in 2018 dropped all the cases of Sheikh Hasina, but has made arrangements for punishment in all the cases of baseless allegations filed against Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarek Rahman.”

The speakers challenged to test their popularity by conducting elections under the caretaker government and said, “The people of the country have woken up today, this government will not find an escape route.”
