Two students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology have been temporarily expelled by the authorities for arresting them with alcohol. At the same time, a 3-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident.

University Proctor Kamruzzaman Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Sunday (August 6) afternoon.

The expelled are Sajid Shakib and Mahmud Shakib, students of the 2020-21 academic year of the University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

In the investigation of the incident, professor of political studies. Syed Ashrafur Rahman convened a 3-member committee.

Professor Dr. Public Administration Department is a member of it. Ashraf Siddiqui and Assistant Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department Kamruzzaman Khan Prince.

It is to be noted that the outcasts were arrested by Sylhet Companyganj Police Station last Thursday around 11:00 pm along with alcohol. The police filed a case under the Narcotics Act Then on Friday afternoon, the court sent them to jail.
