Elections will not be allowed in the country without the resignation of this government: Bulu

BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu said, “The blood of Sajeev, the leader of the Farmers’ Party killed in Laxmipur, will not go in vain under any circumstances. Inshallah, we will win the movement.’

He said this while addressing the chief guest at a short rally before the protest rally in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Thursday afternoon. The rally started in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan at 4:05 PM, which will end at Moghbazar.

Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP organized this rally against the killing of Krishak Dal leader Sajib Hossain in Laxmipur.

Barkat Ullah Bulu said, ‘Our demand is only one – no election will be allowed in the country without the resignation of this government. On this demand, the government will resign and the current election commission will be canceled and we will get a fair election in the country. Our movement has been going on since August 24 on this demand.

He said, ‘There will be no election with this government in power. And our leader Begum Khaleda Zia is in jail. But I will not make any demands to this government. We will get our demands through movement and struggle.’

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, said in the rally, “Sajib Hossain was killed in a very cold-headed and planned manner. It is planned by them (Awami League). Because the government wants to eliminate the opposition.’

He said, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said, ‘There will be no election outside the constitution. But under this constitution the verdict of the people will not be reflected. So neutral government is needed. And they want to do the election through which the election is held in the morning and night, without the people and the voters. This election Obaidul Quader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud’s choice.’

It has been seen on the ground that the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations started gathering in Nayapaltan with banners, festoons and black flags from 2 pm on Thursday around the protest rally. At this time they hold black badges.

From the rally, the activists raised various slogans including ‘My brother’s blood cannot go in vain’, ‘Sajeev’s blood cannot go in vain’, ‘I have given blood, I will give more blood’.

BNP leader Ahmed Azam Khan, Abdus Salam, Zainul Abedin Farooq, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Nazim Uddin Alam, Taiful Islam Tipu, Ishrak Hossain, Juba Dal leader Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Krishak Dal leader Hasan Ja, among others, attended the short rally under the chairmanship of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aman Ullah Aman and moderated by member secretary Aminul Haque. Fir Tuhin, Shahidul Islam Babul, Chhatra Dal leader Kazi Rawonkul Islam Shravan, Saif Mahmud Jewel, Ulama Dal Shah Md. Nesharul Haque was present.
