A person was killed in Moglabazar of Sylhet’s South Surma Upazila in an attack by neighbors over drain disposal.
The incident took place on Tuesday (June 27) around 10 am in Moglabazar’s South Naikhai (Gowaspur) village.
The deceased is the son of Chaku Mia of Dakshin Naikhai (Gowaspur) village. Dulu Mia (48).
Moglabazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Main Uddin confirmed the death.
According to local police sources, there was a dispute between the families of Qadir Mia and Al-Amin of South Naikhai (Gowaspur) village along with their neighbors Makjad Mia for the last few days over the disposal of waste from a drain. Due to this, when a fight started between the two family members around 10 am on Tuesday, Qadir Mia and Al Amin were beaten and Dulu Mia was seriously injured. Later, when he was taken to South Surma Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Moglabazar Police Station OC SM Main Uddin said, after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. The body is currently at Osmani Medical College Hospital for postmortem. No one has been arrested till the time of writing this report.
