Jazira upazila administration’s integrated nutrition garden has caught the eye

The image of Jazeera Upazila square has changed. Earlier, piles of garbage could be seen in front of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office, now there are plots of various types of vegetables with signboards hanging in front of each of them where the names of different departments are written. The upazila square is green with raindrops, the green grass that has grown today is flying. Every afternoon, retired employees, students, and visitors throng the upazila square, take selfies and share them on social media. Next to the office, once there was a sewer and garbage, now it is crowded with people.
Going to the ground, it can be seen in the plots of the “Integrated Nutrient Garden” project implemented by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Agriculture Officer’s office with the help of the “IFNAP” project of the Jazira Upazila Parishad square. Apart from the 17 divisions assigned by the Upzilla Parishad, there are a total of 22 plots including offices of Municipal, Accounts-Keeping, Election Officers, each of which is now full of vegetables.
Also waiting to flower are gourds and sweet pumpkins. The upazila administration said that this initiative has been taken with the aim of using institutional fallow land as part of the implementation of the announcement of the Honorable Prime Minister “Not even an inch of land can be left uncultivated” and with the intention of attracting visitors to the Upazila Parishad Chattar.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Kamrul Hasan Sohail said about the use of fallow land in Jazira Upazila, “We have already started cultivation in the grazing areas of Jazira along with the agriculture department for the announcement of the Honorable Prime Minister and the instructions given by the Deputy Commissioner to cultivate the fallow, waterlogged and roadside fallow land. have started and are giving free seeds and fertilizers along with encouraging schools, colleges and institutions to cultivate fallow land, which will bring about a complete change in the country.
