Attack on mayor candidate in Barisal Islami Andolon Bangladesh has held a protest meeting and demonstration in Sylhet as part of a nationwide protest meeting and demonstration march demanding the resignation of CEC and the next national parliament election under the national government.

The protest meeting was held on Friday (June 16) at the court point of Bad Juma city under the chairmanship of Maulana Mufti Saeed Ahmed, the metropolitan president of the organization. In the chief guest’s speech, Hafez Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, Central Sylhet Divisional Organizing Secretary of the organization, said that the country is rotten by the brutal attack on a mayoral candidate and the organization’s senior Naib Ameer and the country’s renowned Islamic thinker Mufti Faizul Karim. And such a disgusting statement of CEC is not tolerable in any way. We are protesting against it. Even with the last drop of blood, I will demand the resignation of this government and the Election Commission and demand that the next national election be held under the national government.

Later, a huge protest march started from the city’s court point and circled various roads and ended at Amberkhana point.
