Leaders of journalists, citizens, human rights and cultural organizations of Satkhira have demanded exemplary punishment for the killers of Jamalpur correspondent of BanglaNews24.com, journalist Golam Rabbani Nadeem.

Friday (June 16) Shahid S. at New Market intersection of the city. They made this demand in a human bandh organized by Satkhira Journalist Union, Satkhira TV Journalists Association and Satkhira Journalist Center at M Alauddin Chatter.

The speakers in the human chain said that journalist Golam Rabbani Nadeem made news against Mahmudul Alam Babu, Chairman of Sadhurpara Union of Bakshiganj Upazila. Journalist Nadeem was killed in a well-planned manner. As this incident has made the entire journalistic community scared, it has also created a scandalous chapter. The murderers including Chairman of Sadhurpara Union Mahmudul Alam Babu should be arrested and exemplary punishment should be given.

The speakers said, journalists Manik Saha, Humayun Kabir Balu, Shamsur Rahman Cable, S. Even though many journalists were killed and tortured across the country, including M. Alauddin, he was not prosecuted. A culture of impunity is adding to the long list of journalist killings and torture. Journalist Gholam Rabbani Nadeem was added to this list.

The speakers warned of a Durbar movement if the killers of journalist Ghulam Rabbani Nadeem are not arrested and given exemplary punishment.

Munir Uddin, executive director of Swadesh Madhav Chandra Dutt, coordinator of Satkhira Journalist Center and now TV representative Ahsanur Rahman Rajeev, Banik Barta’s Golam Sarwar and others.
