The budget has increased slightly in terms of Rs.: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Malek said that the budget has slightly increased compared to last year. However, according to the scope of health care, it would be better to increase the health budget a little more.
He said this while inaugurating the Intensive Care Center (ICU) at the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute (NITOR) on Sunday.
The health minister said that in the new budget, 38 thousand 52 crore rupees have been allocated for health, which is 5 percent of the total budget. In the financial year 2022-23, 5.4 percent of the total budget or Tk 36 thousand 863 crore has been allocated to this sector. According to the increased scope of health care, the allocation in the budget of the next financial year needed to be increased a little more.
At this time, the Director General of the Department of Health Professor Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Director of NITO Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Gani Mollah along with senior doctors, nurses and officials of the hospital were present.
