4 Children were killed and 1 injured after being hit by a microbus in Kushtia’s Khoksa. The incident took place at Kuthipara area of Kushtia-Rajbari Regional Highway of Shimulia Union of Khoksa Upazila of Kushtia on Sunday around 7:30 am. In this incident, the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway was blocked for several hours by the angry crowd.
The deceased are Md Hanif’s daughter Mim (12) of Shimulia Kuthipara village, Tanjila (11) and Maria (13) two daughters of Palna Sheikh of the same village and Juthi (12) daughter of Helal Uddin. Shimulia Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Quddus said that after reading the Qur’an in Shimulia Kuthipara Jame Masjid in the morning, 4 children were crossing the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway when a speeding microbus hit them and lost control and overturned into the nearby reservoir. One died on the spot and three children died after being taken to Kushtia Sadar Hospital.
