A case has been registered in the Sadar police station regarding the incident of chasing and batoning BNP leaders and activists with the police during the Gaibandha BNP programme. In this case, 250 to 300 unidentified accused have been named including 336 leaders and activists in the case of BNP and other organizations.

On Saturday (September 2), Sub-Inspector of Sadar Police Station filed a case under the Explosives Act, including assault on the police, obstructing government work. Zakaria.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Masud Rana confirmed the case on Saturday (September 2) night. He said, three people were arrested in this incident. Later in the afternoon they were sent to the district jail by the court.

Meanwhile, activists are in fear of arrest. Many have covered their heads.

It is to be noted that Friday was the 45th founding anniversary of Gaibandha BNP. On this occasion, the district BNP took out a procession from the party office on Circular Road in the city in the afternoon. It circled the city and was intercepted by the police when it reached Park Road. BNP-Zubadal leaders and activists chased each other with the police. At one point the police fired tear gas canisters and batoned the leaders and workers. At least 15 leaders and activists of BNP and Juba Dal were injured. They were treated in different hospitals. Later, the police arrested 2 BNP leaders from the party office and 1 leader from Gorestan intersection in the city.
