A press conference was held demanding the arrest and hanging of the accused in the sensational Motalib Munsi (40) murder case at Palashbari in Gaibandhar.

The deceased’s wife Maryam Begum, daughter Muslima Akhter, only son Ehsanul Rahman, deceased’s father Anwar Hossain and mother Khotaza Begum along with two injured younger brothers Mobaidul Islam and Abu Taleb Arif were present.
In a separate speech, they said that they had a dispute with Abdul Mannangong about the ownership of half a hundred acres of land adjacent to the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Maheshpur village of the city.
Last Thursday (August 24) around 9 o’clock in the morning, Abdul Mannan went to do construction work on the land. Muttalib and his two brothers prevented this. Meanwhile, the accused brutally beat and killed Motallib. The attackers beat and broke the hands of the other two brothers when they tried to save him
Mobaidul Islam, the victim’s younger brother, filed a murder case at Palashbari Police Station as the defendant, mentioning the names of 20 people in this incident. But even after three days of the incident, the police did not arrest the 16 accused named Ejaza. They demanded the arrest of all the accused and exemplary punishment.
Palashbari Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arju Md. Sazzat Hossain said in this regard.
Meanwhile, chief Abdul Mannan along with his wife Rashida Begum, son Rishad and brother Ekramul have been arrested in the case. Police activities are continuing to arrest the other accused.
