Police seized 5 kg of ganja from the tank of a motorcycle in Gaibandha Sadar Upazila. Meanwhile, a drug dealer named Ashraful Islam (35) was arrested.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Masud Rana confirmed this information on Thursday (August 17) afternoon.

Arrested Ashraful Islam son of Sahidar Rahman of New Jummapara area under Kotyali police station of Rangpur.

OC Masud Rana said that the raid was conducted in front of Abdul Quader’s shop in Kuptala Nakhraj village of the upazila on Wednesday (August 17) around 10:30 pm. Meanwhile, a motorcycle was stopped and searched and Ashraful Islam was arrested along with 5 kg of dry ganja from inside the tank. The officer said that a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
