A child bitten by a snake died due to medical negligence in Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital. There was an uproar in the hospital over this. However, medical negligence is not new. Often poisoned, road accidents and various other patients are dying like this. Still authorities are not taking action. There are also complaints that doctors sit at the table and interns do the treatment.

Yesterday at 8 pm on Wednesday night, Swadhin Mia (7), son of Muktar Mia of Joynagar village of Lukra Union of Sadar Upazila, was brought to the hospital after being bitten by a snake. He had leg braces then. After arriving at the emergency department, the child continued to writhe in pain. But still the doctor did not treat. In addition, the intern did not give him adequate treatment and sent him to the ward. After going to the ward around 10 pm, the child died immediately after removing the bandages and pushing saline. At this time the relatives started screaming.

As always the doctor is blamed. Because the doctor would have given the vaccine as soon as he arrived, and taken treatment. Then maybe Muktar’s child would not have died.

Muktar Hossain told the hospital that around 7:00 p.m., his infant son went fishing near the independent house. A poisonous snake bites him. Hearing the screams, they tied the legs with ropes. Her son was not given any treatment after being brought to the hospital around 8pm. Even after being taken to the ward, his son was speaking freely. But when the bandage was opened and the injection was pushed, her child died. He will take recourse to the law in this regard. At the time of writing this report at 12 o’clock in the night, the police and hospital authorities are going to the spot and trying to comfort the relatives.
