There have been reports of discovery of militant hideout and recovery of ammunition in the hills of Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar.

On Tuesday, August 15, around 7 am, the Counter Terrorism Unit launched an operation with 3 of the 17 militants who were arrested while fleeing from the premises of the Karmadha Union office in 10 CNG autorickshaws. They first raided some hilly areas including Kalapahar. The drive ended around 2pm. The operation was led by the head of Counter Terrorism Unit Mohammad Asaduzzaman and related senior officials. The 17 militants who were arrested by the mob on Monday morning were taken into custody by the Counter Terrorism Unit on Tuesday morning.
