Inauguration of the 7-day tree fair in Chapainawabganj

A 7-day tree fair has started in Chapainawabganj with the slogan of ‘planting trees and building a healthy nation’. Chapainawabganj-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Abdul Wadud inaugurated the fair at the city’s Bangabandhu Manch square around 11:30 on Tuesday.
Later the guests visited the tree fair. A total of 25 stalls of the tree fair have different varieties of trees. Visiting the fair, one can see domestic and foreign flowers and fruit seedlings arranged in rows in bahari tubs. Many people are buying seedlings to make flower and fruit gardens on the roofs of houses. Various types of mango saplings including Langra, Khirsapat are seen in the fair. Besides dahlia, rose, rosary and various flowers. There are medicinal plants. Tree lovers are crowding the stalls around the fair. They are happy to buy the seedlings of their choice cheaply. There is no alternative to planting trees to save the environment. Therefore, not only in nurseries, nursery owners are encouraged to sell tree seedlings in various fairs.
Abdullah Al Saad, a 7th grade student of Collectorate Green View High School said, “We came to the fair with friends. It is wonderful to see different types of flowers and fruit plants. Bought several seedlings. The price is also low, so it feels good.
Earlier in the morning, a colorful rally was organized by cutting the ribbon. At the end of the rally round the main main roads of the city, a short discussion meeting was held at the same place.
Under the chairmanship of District Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan, District Superintendent of Police Saidul Hasan, Chairman of Zilla Parishad & Hero Freedom Fighter Ruhul Amin, Hero Freedom Fighter Abdus Samad, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Afaz Uddin, District Assistant Conservator of Forest Mehdizzaman and others were present. During this, the speakers advised everyone to plant at least three trees. The fair will continue till August 7 under the joint arrangement of the district administration and forest department.
