Upazila literature fair was held for the first time in Kumarkhali of Kushtia. On Thursday (July 27) it was inaugurated by blowing balloons and cutting the ribbon at the Upazila Parishad square. Later discussion meeting was held.
More than half a hundred poets, writers, researchers, songwriters, composers, artists of all levels including grass roots of the upazila participated in the organized literary fair. This literature fair will continue for two days.
With the help of Ministry of Culture in coordination with Bangla Academy, literature fair was organized at upazila level with the aim of highlighting the works of writers at national level.
Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Ehtasham Reza inaugurated the literature fair. Upazila Social Service Officer Mohammad ALi chaired the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Bitan Kumar Mondal and Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Ehtasham Reza was the chief guest.
Upazila Chairman Abdul Mannan Khan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kumarkhali, Md. Amirul Arafat, former Treasurer of National Poetry Council Syed Abdus Sadiq, District Cultural Officer Md. Sujon Rahman, prominent researcher, writer and president of Bodhdaya organization Advocate Lalim Haque and others were present.
