The police did not take a case in the case of burning the excavator in Jaintapur, Sylhet. It caused a stir. It has been reported that a hired excavator machine was cutting the soil on the south side of Kashimul Ulum Hemu Nayapara Velopara Madrasa of Fatehpur Union No. 5 of Jaintapur Upazila. On the night of April 25, that is, around 3:30 a.m. on April 26, 2-3 miscreants poured kerosene on the excavator and set it on fire using a stick. In this, most of the parts of the excavator machine were burnt to ashes. Later, the fire was extinguished with the help of the locals, but the engine of the machine caught fire, causing a loss of about 7 lakh rupees. Later in the incident, Nizam Uddin, son of deceased Zamir Uddin, a resident of Hemu Nayagram South, filed a complaint at Jaintapur Model Police Station seeking redressal. In this, the name of Saleh Ahmed (32), son of the deceased Sikandar Ali of the same village, and 2/3 others who are unknown, are accused. But for mysterious reasons, the police did not take the case today.
According to the search, one of the murderers of No. 5-Fatehpur Union, the alleged influential person, is the nephew of the relative of the top smuggler in the intelligence list, the rogue Saleh Ahmad. Even after getting the facts of the incident, the Thana police expressed their inability to take the case. Because some unscrupulous policemen extort huge sums of money from the smugglers every night.
In this regard, the investigating officer of Jaintapur Model Police Station SI Sakhawat admitted the truth of the incident and told the reporter on the phone that he went to training at one stage of the complaint investigation and then could not say anything more about what happened. Later, when the officer in charge Omar Farooq was called several times on the mobile phone to know about this, he did not receive any statement.
Meanwhile, the victim Nizam Uddin told the reporter that the fire terrorists did not respond to anyone’s call even though there were several local arbitration meetings to resolve the issue. After the incident, the miscreants went into hiding. They are constantly threatening the left to drop the charges. At this time, he expressed deep concern over such activities of the police. Currently, he and his family are suffering from extreme insecurity. He also said that the investigating officer advised him to file a case in court. The police also clarified that they will not be able to take the case under the pressure of the alleged influential person. After getting no alternative, he appeared in the court and filed a case in the Senior Judicial Magistrate and Amli Court No-3, Sylhet. of which Jaintapur C.R. Case No-95/2023 Eng-. Sources confirmed that the court has taken cognizance of the case and directed the Sylhet PBI for a proper investigation.
