World Tobacco Free Day 2023 was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with the theme “Grow food, not tobacco”. On the occasion of the day, on Wednesday (May 31) morning, the rally was started by blowing balloons in front of the office premises of the Deputy Commissioner. At the end of the rally, a discussion meeting was held with the members of the Tobacco Control Law Implementation Committee, heads of other public and private departments of the district, politicians and civil society participants in the conference room of the District Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner A K M Galiv Khan spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Anisur Rahman, Deputy Director of Local Government (Deputy Secretary) Debendra Nath Uraon, Additional Superintendent of Police (Nawabganj Circle) Md. Atwar Rahman, Principal of Nawabganj Government College Professor Dr. Shankar Kumar Kundu, Deputy Director of DNC Mohammad Anisur Rahman Khan, freedom fighters Advocate Md. Abdus Samad and spoke among others.
