In Gobindganj of Gaibandha, a low-cost private eye hospital has been held in protest of commercial classification in order to protect the public interest.

On Tuesday (May 30) at 11 a.m. at Thana Mor Charmatha in the city, Gobindganj Civic Committee convener MA Matin Molla spoke in the hour-long human chain, the general secretary of the private eye hospital management committee, prominent businessman Babu Mia, treasurer Abu Zafar Bhuinya, workerspati district branch general secretary Milan Kanti Sarkar, Upazila JSD President Ayub Hossain Sarkar, Basad Upazila Branch President Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, Merchants Association President Nazmul Huda Pradhan Tuku, Upazila National Farmers Association President Abdul Awal BSC and District Chhatra League Vice President Pirzada Abdul Qayyum among others.

The speakers said that some dishonest officials of the district involved in land acquisition of Gobindganj private medical center Pecks General Hospital have mentioned the building as a residential building instead of showing it as a commercial one. The only eye hospital for public treatment has been damaged. The hospital authorities complained to the Deputy Commissioner several times but no remedy was found. Called to immediately withdraw the decision of the residential building and show the commercial building and give appropriate compensation to the government. Otherwise, the civic committee will be forced to embark on a series of agitations.
