Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon expatriate Bangladeshis to send remittances to the country through legal means, stressing on exploring foreign employment opportunities in new countries and sending skilled manpower there.

He said, ‘We have to find new employment areas and new countries (to send manpower). We will provide the kind of training (for workers) that a country needs.’

The Prime Minister said this while inaugurating the second meeting of the National Steering Committee on Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment at his official residence Ganabhaban on Sunday. Khabar bus

Pointing out that the government has already started sending workers to some new countries, Sheikh Hasina said, “We need to send skilled manpower and for that we have arranged multi-purpose training for the workers.”

He said, “If we can send skilled manpower through proper training, then we have a great opportunity to achieve economic prosperity.”

The Prime Minister also directed the concerned officials to encourage Bangladeshi expatriate workers to send remittances through legal channels.
