A three-day pitha festival has been inaugurated at Srimangal in Moulvibazar.

On Thursday (February 2) afternoon, pitha festival was inaugurated by Chamung restaurant in Radhanagar area of the upazila.

Shrimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanulal Roy inaugurated the pitha festival as the chief guest. Upazila Vice Chairman Haji Mohammad Liton Ahmed, Srimangal Press Club President Biswajyoti Chowdhury, Srimangal Upazila Public Health Engineer Md. Saiful Islam, Assistant Professor of Balaganj Degree College Avinash Acharya, President of Srimangal Tourism Services Association Salim Ahmed, Vice President of Srimangal Upazila Press Club Shamim Akhtar Hossain, General Secretary Bikul Chakraborty, UP Member Shafiqur Rahman Liton etc.

At the pitha festival, small entrepreneurs from different areas have set up stalls with different types of pithapulis. Tapas Dash, a member of the Pitha Utsav organizing committee, said that the Pitha Utsav has started from Thursday. Pitha festival and fair will be held till next Saturday night. The festival will feature mesmerizing cultural programs including Baul songs.
