Police seized stolen coal worth Tk 400,000

Tahirpur police station of Sunamganj has seized about 140,000 stolen coal.
On Tuesday (January 24) in the evening, the police seized these stolen coals from the stone quarry of Sansar Par, adjacent to Charagaon customs station on the border of the upazila.
Sunamganj district police media cell confirmed this information on Wednesday (January 25).
According to the media cell, during the transportation of coal imported from India through the Barachara-Charagaon customs station of the upazila, some organized gangs were stealing the coal and selling it illegally.
During the police special operation led by police station OC Syed Iftekhar Hossain, the members of the gang of thieves dropped the stolen coal by the LC and escaped from the stone ghat of Sansar Par adjacent to Charagaon customs station. After that, the police seized 28 metric tons of stolen coal worth about one hundred and four lakh taka in an ownerless state.
In this regard, SI Ahmed Arefin of Tahirpur police station said that the seizure list has been prepared and the matter of submitting the report to the court is under process.
