Increase production by reducing costs: Planning Minister

Planning Minister MA Mannan said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted several strategies to deal with the ongoing global crisis. As part of that strategy, we are urging the people of the country to reduce costs and increase production. The Prime Minister has already managed to control the unrest that started in the country’s markets.
He said this while addressing the chief guest at the distribution ceremony of government incentive seeds and chemical fertilizers among the farmers at the helipad field of Lakhai Upazila Parishad yesterday Saturday (November 12) at noon.
The minister said that to deal with the crisis, the head of government has ordered to reduce major development projects in the country. Cars are not being given to government officials now. However, farmers should be kept at the center of development, he said. The ongoing power outages in the country are due to the rise in fuel prices due to the Russia-Ukraine war and this problem will be resolved with time.
MA Mannan said that due to the chaotic politics of BNP, there has been a harmful impact on the lives of the working people of the country. BNP held rallies at different places with shouts. But seeing the two rallies of Awami League, their eyes have become dark. They now understand that they do not have the strength to face the Awami League.
During rabi season of 2022-2023 financial year, these seeds and chemical fertilizers are distributed among the small and marginal farmers and farmers meeting is held to increase the cultivation and production of wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower, groundnut, soybean, winter onion, moong, lentil and kesari.

Millions are now self-sufficient in food as a result of government incentives.

Fertilizers and seeds were distributed free of cost to more than 5,000 farmers and agriculturists on the occasion. At that time, brave freedom fighters, government officials, police officers, Union Parishad chairmen and upazila Awami League leaders from different levels were present.
Meanwhile, at 3:30 in the afternoon, the Minister held an exchange meeting with journalists working in Habiganj at Habiganj Press Club. During this, he highlighted the various programs given by the government for the development of journalists and assured to support the journalists of Habiganj.
