11 traders fined Tk 6 lakh for selling banned polythene in Madhavpur

11 traders of Madhavpur had to pay a fine of Rs 6 lakh for keeping banned polythene in their shops. Director of Environment Directorate Mohammad Emran Hossain, Deputy Director of Habiganj office Md Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 Md Nurul Islam conducted the polythene operation in Madhavpur market yesterday morning.
80,000 to Ratan Roy store, 35,000 to Jamal store, 30,000 to Ganeswar store, 35,000 to Shyama store, 50,000 to Daya Maya store, 1 lakh to Krishna Chandra Pal, 30,000 to Chuttu Mia, 1 lakh to Swarup store, Harilal for keeping polythene. A fine of 45,000 rupees was imposed on the store, 50,000 on Kajal Chakraborty and 50,000 on Bhai Bhai Store, totaling 6 lakh 5 thousand rupees. 1.2 metric tons of polythene has been recovered and seized in the operation.
