In East Adhakani village of Kamalganj, with the help of the wife, it has been alleged that the people of the father-in-law’s house forcefully snatched Tk 5 lakh for the purchase of land. If the victim Shaheen Mia files a case in the court, the defendants continue to threaten her to withdraw the case. Later, Shaheen Mia filed a general diary (GD) at Kamalganj police station on the night of September 30 seeking her safety.

According to the complaint, Shaheen Mia, the son of Raich Mia, son of deceased Raich Mia, of East Adhkani village of the same union, wants to buy the 15th century land of Chalim Mia, the son of Zamir Mia, son of Zamir Mia of Uttarbhag village of Adampur Union of Kamalganj Upazila. He called the owner of the land, Chalim, to his house on September 27 at noon to pay a deposit of Tk 500,000. Before this, Shaheen withdrew the money due and money from the bank and kept Tk 5 lakh cash in his custody at home. On hearing the news of the sale of the land, his wife Selina Begum, who was staying at her father’s house, returned to her husband’s house with her parents, mother and brother and objected to the purchase of the land. When Shaheen did not listen to his wife, mother-in-law and Shala and wanted to pay the earnest money for the land, he snatched Tk 5 lakh kept in the wardrobe of the house where his Shala, father-in-law and wife were living together with the owner of the land. His father-in-law’s house is next to Shaheen Mia’s house. In the afternoon, when he went to his father-in-law’s house to collect the money, he was pressured by his father-in-law’s family to divorce his wife by refusing to take the money. They threatened to file a case against him if he did not agree. Later, the day after these incidents, on September 28, he filed a court petition case against 4 people in Moulvibazar Senior Judicial Magistrate No. 3 Amal Court, making his Shala Shamim Mia the main accused. The main accused in the case, including his in-laws, were angry with the news of filing the case in the court. The defendants in the case are continuously threatening Shaheen, the plaintiff in the case, to withdraw the case. The plaintiff in the case is suffering from insecurity due to continuous threats. As a result, Shaheen Mia made a general diary at the Kamalganj Police Station on the night of September 30 seeking her safety.

On Sunday afternoon, the accused called Shamim Mia several times on his cell phone to talk about it, so it was not possible to talk to him as he did not answer the phone.
