A prisoner named Fazlu Mia (45) died in Habiganj District Jail. He is the son of Abdul Waheed Mia of Ajmiriganj upazila. When he fell ill in the district jail last Monday night, he was first taken to the jail hospital. When his condition deteriorated there, he was brought to Sadar Hospital where he died around 1 am. As 2/3 people died in the last 1 week, there is panic among the inmates. Sadar police handed over the body to the family on Tuesday afternoon after the post-mortem.

According to prison sources, Fazlu Mia was imprisoned in Habiganj jail since July 5 in a case. He was sent to the hospital last Monday night when he fell ill with chest pain. Zainal Abedin Bhuiyan of the district said that Fazlu Mia died of a stroke.
