Joint operation of traffic and municipality to keep footpath free in Srimangal

The traffic department and the Srimangal municipal administration launched an operation to evict illegally parked vehicles and goods of business establishments in front of various markets in the municipal area of Srimangal town of Moulvibazar.
On Thursday (September 8) at noon, the traffic department and the municipal administration launched an operation against those creating trouble on the roads by leaving signboards of motorcycles, CNG, various private vehicles and business establishments everywhere on college road, station road, Moulvibazar road and Habiganj road in the municipal area of the city. At that time, several motorcycles were seized and brought to the police station by occupying the footpath.
Also, drivers of establishments and various private vehicles are warned not to keep goods on the footpath. Traffic Inspector Amitabh Shekhar Chowdhury, Tapan Talukdar and Srimangal Municipality officials were present in the drive.
Traffic Inspector Amitabh Shekhar said that 7 motorcycles and 4 CNG auto-rickshaws parked illegally were seized and brought to the police station. Cases have been filed against the owners of these vehicles under various sections of the Traffic Act. He also said that such campaign will be continued as part of informing the people and creating awareness about the traffic laws to reduce traffic congestion, prevent illegal parking.
