Youth arrested with foreign liquor in Kulaura

A youth named Jamshed (22) has been arrested with foreign liquor in a DB operation in Kulaura, Moulvibazar. On Tuesday (August 11), at around 7:30 pm, a team of District Intelligence Branch (DB) SI Md. Abu Naiyum Miah, SI Ahlad Ibne Jamil, PPM, ASI Enamul Haque, ASI Md. Rajib and others led by them, arrested Jamshed Miah in Mangaon area of ​​Sharifpur union of the upazila. During this, the DB members searched the arrested Jamshed and recovered 10 bottles of foreign liquor from his custody. The arrested Jamshed Miah is the son of Ashiq Miah of Mangaon village of Sharifpur union.

District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sudipto Shekhar Bhattacharya said that during initial interrogation, Jamshed confessed to collecting illegal drugs from the Indian border area for a long time and selling them at different places. A case has been registered against him at Kulaura Police Station under Section 24(a) of Schedule 36(1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
