Two Touts Sentenced to Jail at Chattogram BRTA

In an operation conducted by Mobile Court-12 under the Chattogram Divisional Office of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), two individuals were sentenced to simple imprisonment—one for 25 days and the other for 20 days—after being found soliciting business illegally (acting as ‘touts’) within the BRTA compound.
Operation was carried out today, Wednesday (September 16), at the BRTA Chattogram Metro-2 and Chattogram District Circle offices.
Convicted individuals are Mohammad Hasan (45), son of Mohammad Rafiq of Moulvi Akmal’s house in Notunpara, Hathazari Upazila; and Mohammad Imran (47), son of Mohammad Abdul Malek of Bhuiyan village in Hatiya Upazila, Noakhali.
Meanwhile, in separate operations conducted near the city’s Bayezid Link Road and the intersection adjacent to Cantonment Public School and College, 11 cases were filed for violations of various sections of the Road Transport Act, 2018. A total of Tk 30,000 in fines was collected through these cases. During the operation, a pickup truck was also seized from Bayezid Link Road.
Executive Magistrate Fahmida Mustafa of Mobile Court-12 led the operation.
