Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party recovered two laptops, a passport, and important documents found abandoned while on duty at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and handed them over to the rightful owner. Demonstrating honesty, promptness, and a sense of responsibility, they secured the recovered items and returned them to the owner following necessary verification. At approximately 7:15 AM, APC Md. Golam Rabbani, APC Md. Iman Ali, and APC Md. Saheb Ali were performing their duties at Canopy-02 of the airport.

During this time, they spotted a bag left unattended on a trolley. Upon taking the bag into their custody and examining it, they discovered two laptops, a passport, and other important documents inside. Verification of the information in the passport revealed that the bag belonged to Md. Rakibul Islam, a passenger who had arrived from China on flight BG-367. The matter was immediately reported to the Shift In-charge, PC Md. Nizam Uddin.

Treating the matter with importance, he initiated efforts to locate the owner through various means, including public announcements. Simultaneously, Md. Rakibul Islam was contacted via mobile phone using the details found in the passport. Upon receiving the news, Md. Rakibul Islam quickly arrived at the Canopy-02 area of the airport. He was subsequently taken to the Duty Security Officer’s (DSO) office. There, after verifying the necessary documents and identity, his status as the rightful owner of the recovered items was confirmed.

Later, in the presence of senior officials, the two laptops (valued at approximately 4 lakh Taka), the passport, and other important documents were formally handed over to Md. Rakibul Islam. Md. Rakibul Islam had been anxious about his valuable laptops, passport, and essential documents after losing the bag. He rushed to the airport upon learning that the Ansar members had recovered it. He felt relieved upon receiving the items back intact after the necessary verification process.

He expressed sincere gratitude and commended the Ansar members for their honesty, humanity, and sense of responsibility. In addition to ensuring security at vital and sensitive facilities like the airport, on-duty Ansar members assist passengers and the general public whenever the need arises. This incident—recovering lost valuables and returning them to the rightful owner after proper verification—stands as a remarkable example of their sense of duty, integrity, and commitment to public service.

Simultaneously, they regularly work to assist the public, recover lost property, and prevent crime. Their responsible conduct plays a significant role in enhancing public safety and fostering trust among the people.
