As part of the 25 core tree plantation program announced by the government in 5 years to protect the environment, increase greening and combat the adverse effects of climate change, a tree sapling distribution program was held under the initiative of Rajshahi College Chhatra Dal. Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator and Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton was present as the chief guest at the program organized at Rajshahi College premises at 11 am on Sunday (July 26) and distributed saplings of different species among the students.
Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP President Mamun-or-Rashid was present as the inaugurator at the program. At this time, RASC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said that as part of the implementation of the 25 core tree plantation program announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in 5 years, tree plantation activities are ongoing in Rajshahi metropolis with a target of 2 lakh 50 thousand. Along with the City Corporation, various educational institutions, organizations and agencies have also come forward.
Tree plantation activities are ongoing continuously. He also said that the Prime Minister has already started implementing her election promise. Distribution of family cards and farmer cards has started. The program of providing honorarium to Imams and Muazzims will start soon. In the program, the RASC Administrator emphasized the importance of tree plantation as well as tree care.
