Sahil Rony Wins ‘Best Cinematographer’ Award in New York

Bangladeshi cinematographer and filmmaker Sahil Rony has won the Best Cinematographer award at the New York Bangla Film Festival for his work on Deyaler Desh, directed by Mishuk Moni. Expressing his gratitude, Rony said, “Any international recognition increases my sense of responsibility toward my work. Director Mishuk Moni played a significant role in this achievement by placing his complete trust in me.”
In addition to receiving the award, another film featuring Rony’s cinematography, The Roots (Shekor), directed by Proshoon Rahmaan, was screened at the same festival on August 1. On the same day, his cinematography was also showcased at the 9th Bengali Film Festival of Dallas, where Unveiled (Onabrito), written and directed by Saiful Islam Mannu, was screened at the Angelika Film Center.
With more than 23 years of experience, Sahil Rony has worked on numerous feature films, documentaries, and television commercials. He currently serves as the Assistant General Manager (AGM), Broadcast Operations at One Entertainment (Channel One). Rony’s latest international recognition is regarded as another significant achievement for Bangladeshi cinema on the global stage.
