The Sreemangal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir organized a reception for meritorious students who achieved a GPA-5 in the SSC, Dakhil, and equivalent examinations of 2026. The event, titled “Meritorious Student Reception 2026,” was held on Saturday (September 19) at 10:00 AM in the conference hall on the 4th floor of the Sreemangal Mohsin Auditorium.

Presided over by Safiz Uddin, President of the Sreemangal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, and moderated by Branch Secretary Shafi Ahmed and Literary Secretary Ashraful Islam, the program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Advocate Mohammad Abdur Rob—former Sylhet Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and current Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Sylhet Metropolitan—attended the event as the chief guest.

Shahidul Islam Saju, the Sylhet Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, was present as the keynote speaker. Habibur Rahman—former Central Research and Human Rights Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and a candidate for the post of Sreemangal Upazila Vice-Chairman—attended as the chief guest of honor. Additionally, Farid Uddin, President of the Moulvibazar District branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, and Jahir Ali, Acting Headmaster of Sreemangal Government Girls’ High School, were present as special guests. Jewel Ahmed, the current Finance Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, delivered the welcome address.

Other notable attendees included Saiful Islam, President of the Kamalganj North branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir; Ariful Islam Ratul, President of the Islami Chhatra Shibir unit at Sreemangal Government College; and Monir Ahmed, a candidate for the chairmanship of No. 3 Sadar Union. Students Gazi Musarrat Sinin from The Birds Residential Model School and College and Abdullah Al Baki from Notre Dame School and College shared their thoughts and feelings on behalf of the students.

The speakers congratulated the meritorious students and urged them to utilize their intellect, competence, and moral values ​​for the welfare of the country and society. They emphasized the importance of students developing into citizens who possess moral and human values ​​alongside their pursuit of higher education. Enthusiasm and excitement were evident among the students at the reception ceremony. The organizers stated that the event was arranged to encourage the students’ talent and achievements, as well as to inspire them in their future academic pursuits.
