The Bangladesh National Sports Council (NSC) has approved a new seven-member ad hoc committee of the Ramgarh Upazila Sports Association of Khagrachari district. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Kazi Shamim has been made the president of the newly formed committee and Ramgarh Press Club General Secretary and local sports journalist Md. Nizam Uddin has been made the member secretary.

Last Tuesday (July 16), the executive director of the sports wing of the Bangladesh National Sports Council Md. Daulatuzzaman Khan (NDC) approved the committee in a letter signed by him. The other members of the committee are Ramgarh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nazir Alam, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Jahangir Alam, Upazila Social Service Officer Azizur Rahman Anjum, Upazila Youth Development Officer Tanvir Siddiqui and local sports personality Md. Saiful Islam (Selim).

The people concerned have expressed hope that the formation of this new committee, which includes local sports organizers, will bring positive changes to the sports arena of Ramgarh. According to them, through this committee, the sports environment will be more dynamic and it will be possible to take effective initiatives to encourage the new generation towards sports.
