Ramgarh 43 BGB Inauguration of Rahmatpur BOP

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui has inaugurated an important Border Outpost (BOP) to further strengthen the border security system at Rahmatpur bordering Fatikchhari upazila. This BOPT under Ramgarh 43 Border Guard Battalion is located at Rahmatpur bordering Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong district. He inaugurated this modern BOPT through a formal visit on Wednesday (September 2) morning. The press release said that the then “Ramgarh Local Battalion” was formed in 1795 in Ramgarh area with 448 soldiers.

In continuation of this, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is currently working as a vigilant guard of the border. In addition to maintaining law and order in the border areas, Border Guard Bangladesh is making round-the-clock efforts to protect the border, prevent human trafficking, and prevent drug and smuggling. The newly built “Rahmatpur” BOP of Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB) has been inaugurated to further strengthen border security.

At this time, Region Commander, Chittagong Brigadier General Sohel Ahmed, Additional Director General (Administration), Additional Director General (Operations and Training), Guimara Sector Commander, Ramgarh Battalion Commander and other senior officers along with BGB members were present. Urging BGB members to always be vigilant in protecting the border and the sovereignty of the country, the BGB Director General said in his speech as the chief guest that the increase in modern facilities will enable BGB members to perform their duties with more enthusiasm.

Rahmatpur BOP will play a leading role in preventing drug smuggling and illegal infiltration, especially at the difficult border of Fatikchhari. BGB said that the inauguration of Rahmatpur BOP in Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong district will make it easier for Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB) to prevent all types of border crimes, including smuggling, in the said area. At the same time, this BOP will play an important role in preventing illegal arms and drug smuggling and will accelerate the overall operational activities of BGB.
